Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel departed on Saturday for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on an official visit, responding to an invitation extended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE.
During his visit, Dr Khaleel will engage in high-level discussions with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance bilateral relations, review the broad spectrum of bilateral cooperation, and explore avenues for future cooperation, the foreign ministry stated.
The foreign minister will also have meetings with other dignitaries of the UAE government to explore collaborative initiatives, focusing on fostering partnerships and advancing mutual interests.
"This visit reflects the enduring bilateral relationship between the Maldives and the UAE and highlights shared aspirations for development, innovation, and prosperity," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
