MWSC Launches Online Service Portal

State-owned utility firm Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) on Monday launched a specially designed online service portal.

Speaking at the launch of the online portal, MWSC Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed said the company is striving to improve the quality of services provided to the public in a swift and efficient manner.

"This year, 23,000 customers have sought services at the counter. We have received 80,000 on our customer service hotlines. So these calls and in-person services will be greatly reduced through this portal,” Matheen said.

The MWSC portal will be accessible using the government’s online identification system ‘E-Faas’. Through the online portal, customers will be able to view all active accounts and pay more than one bill through a single account.

In addition, customers of households installed with smart meters will be able to view details of water consumption, meter readings and bills through the portal, MWSC said.
