Minister Hails Pivotal Role of National Radio in an Informed, Civilised Society

The Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim has hailed the pivotal role the country’s national radio, Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu has played over the years in building a well-informed and civilised society.

The Minister made these remarks while speaking on a special programme on the occasion of the 62nd Anniversary of Adu.

Speaking to the special Anniversary programme, Minister Adam Naseer highlighted the pivotal role Adu has played in building a well-informed and civilised society.

Since its inception in 1962, he pointed out the crucial role Adu has played in opening the Maldivian people to the modern world, making them well-informed and a civilised society.

The Minister also expressed gratitude to Adu for aiding his ministry to execute its mandate to educate people on the Dhivehi language, local culture, heritage, customs, and practices.

"The Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu has also played an important role in providing news and information. It broadcasts radio dramas, plays, and stories to entertain the people. It also assists in some of the ministry's key mandates,” he said.

The national radio service was launched on December 29 and has now been in operation for 62 years. The radio service has played an essential role in educating and entertaining the people.
