The Maldives Journal of Engineering and Technology will facilitate the discovery of new innovations and solutions for Maldives’ development, Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, Thoriq Ibrahim said Wednesday.

The Minister made these remarks after officially launching the Maldives Journal of Engineering and Technology (MJET) at a special ceremony held at the Maldives National University (MNU).

The Maldives Journal of Engineering and Technology is the first journal dedicated to sharing research and developments in the field of engineering and technology in the country.

According to the Ministry, the journal will further enhance the scientific and technical development of the Maldives.

The main objective of MJET Journal is to provide a unique platform for researchers in engineering, science and technology to publish their research. All articles published in this journal will be open access and peer-reviewed, MNU said.

The University also said the launch of the first such portal dedicated to engineering and technology is not only a step forward for the university, but a giant leap for the country's education and research sector.

MNU said that all articles published in MJET will be open to everyone to use, share with mandatory credit to the original author and open doors to innovation. The journal will carry theoretical, computational and experimental research, the University added.

The journal will provide an open access mechanism for sharing new findings and research along with more opportunities for Maldivians in particular, the Maldives National University said.

MNU said MJET will become a model of quality and a force for progress in the field of engineering and technology.
