Saeed Resigns from PSM, Citing Medical Reasons

Mohamed Saeed, the Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM), has stepped down from his position. Saeed tendered his resignation on Tuesday, attributing his decision to the necessity of extended stays abroad for medical treatment.

In his resignation letter, Saeed conveyed his appreciation to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu for the appointment and for entrusting him with the opportunity to serve as the managing director. Saeed was appointed to the position on 24 August 2024.

Throughout his four-month tenure, Saeed has significantly advanced the development of the public broadcasting service. He is regarded among the staff for his approachable and amicable nature, which has contributed to fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Saeed's public service career, which commenced in 1989, encompasses a variety of government roles. These include serving as the permanent secretary and director general at the Ministry of Education and fulfilling the responsibilities of a media officer and other positions within the education sector. He has also contributed to numerous government committees and held a directorial role on the Board of Directors of Aasandha Company Ltd., the national healthcare insurance provider.
