Ashaan Appointed as New FSM Managing Director, Becomes First Woman to Serve as MD in STO Group

Fathimath Ashan was appointed as the new Managing Director of Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM), a subsidiary of State Trading Organisation (STO) on Sunday.

Ashan is the first woman to serve as Managing Director in the STO Group of Companies.

She boasts a long career with STO, serving as its Head of Business Development, Human Resources and Administrative between 1994 to 2019.

Between 2019 to 2020, Ashan had also served as the Deputy CEO of MIFCO, the state fisheries company.

Ashan replaces Ismail Suhail who had resigned from the FSM’s Managing Director post on 26 November.
