President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the implementation of key pledges related to housing, healthcare and education will commence next year.
He shared the update while addressing the residents of Huraa, Kaafu Atoll, as part of his ongoing tour to select islands of Kaafu and Alifu Alifu Atoll.
In his remarks, President disclosed that the government had already established the prioritisation framework for next year's development projects. While housing projects will take precedence, followed by healthcare and education sector initiatives, all projects are set to be launched next year, he added.
Reiterating that next year's focus will be on infrastructure development across the Maldives, the president said his top priority is to address the needs of citizens.
Outlining the initiatives planned for Huraa, President said a multi-purpose hall will be developed at the island's school next year, as well as the introduction of scanning services at the local health center. He also committed to resuming the island's harbor project.
"We will commence work to fulfill our pledges for development projects as the people wish, as the whole country collectively desires, in 2025 and 2026," he said.
According to the President, after housing, healthcare, and education projects, the next priority will be on water and sewerage, road development as well as other social sector projects.
