President Dr Mohamed Muizzu reaffirmed the government's commitment to completing the road development project and addressing various infrastructure needs in Thoddoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll. He made this commitment during a meeting with the Thoddoo Island Council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) on Sunday.
During his two-day visit to several islands in the Alifu Alifu and Kaafu Atolls, President Muizzu engaged with council members to discuss the pressing concerns of the Thoddoo residential community. Key issues raised by the council members at the meeting included the need for improved healthcare services and the development of a new healthcare centre on the island. The council members also highlighted space constraints faced by the local school and requested the formulation of a financial mechanism to support the island's socio-economic development.
President Dr Muizzu assured the council of his administration's dedication to fulfilling electoral pledges and integrating these projects into the national budget. He also assured the government's commitment to executing the road construction project in Thoddoo.
Cabinet ministers accompanying the president provided updates on the ongoing developmental projects to further reinforce the administration's focus on the island's progress. Following the meeting, President Muizzu signed the guest book at the Secretariat of the Thoddoo Island Council.
