NDMA reports USD 71,163 in damages from rain on affected islands

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported total damages of USD 71,163 in islands affected by rain this year, as of the end of November.

According to the NDMA, 10 islands were impacted, with 110 houses reported damaged. The highest number of damaged households was recorded in Kurendhoo, Lhaviyani Atoll, where 97 houses were affected.

The NDMA has completed an assessment of the affected households and submitted the information to the relevant authorities for assistance under the Rules on Providing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Damage Assistance. The report highlights ongoing efforts to address the damages and support those impacted by the severe weather.
