Ministry of External Affairs of India has announced the appointment of G. Balasubramanian as the new Ambassador of India to the Maldives. Balasubramanian is currently serving as the Indian Ambassador to Nigeria and will soon assume his new role in the Maldives.
A seasoned diplomat, Balasubramanian joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1998 and has held key positions in Indian missions across Russia, the United States, and Thailand. His extensive experience in international relations is expected to strengthen the longstanding ties between India and the Maldives.
The appointment follows the tenure of Munu Mahawar, who has been serving as the Indian Ambassador to Maldives since November 17, 2021. Balasubramanian's transition to his new post underscores India's ongoing commitment to fostering regional diplomacy and cooperation with its neighbors.
