Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam has reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to address the major challenges facing the fishing industry during this tenure.
Speaking at the inauguration of the nationwide fuel storages project, Minister Shiyam stressed that the obstacles within the fishing industry remained unresolved effectively for a long period of time. He noted that seeking temporary solutions were the main reason why these challenges were not resolved permanently.
Furthermore, Minister Shiyam emphasised that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been exerting efforts to resolve these issues, since he assumed office as president. He stated that the president has been closely monitoring the progress and the works related to the fishing industry, highlighting that this shows the president's dedication to resolve the issues in the industry.
