President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to confer the esteemed Grand Order of Military Honour (GOMH) upon Major General (rtd) Moosa Ali Jaleel.
The President's Office announced that this decision was made by President Dr. Muizzu to recognise and value Major General Jaleel's distinguished service to national security and his significant contributions to safeguarding the sovereignty of the nation.
The honour particularly acknowledges his efforts during the events of November 3, 1988, when he demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of a terror attack. His actions were instrumental in protecting the nation and its people during this critical period.
President Dr. Muizzu decided to confer the award to Jaleel under the president’s authority as outlined in Article 115 of the Constitution. The award will be presented to Jaleel in the official ceremony held to commemorate the Victory Day of the Maldives. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 3, 2030hrs at Dharubaaruge.
While the president has decided to award Jaleel with the Grand Order of Military Honour, Jaleel has also been awarded with the red medal, for being wounded in the field in the battle against the coup attempt on November 3, as well as the Long Service Medal, on previous occassions.
