Vice President calls for innovative, sustainable management

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has emphasised the need for more public-private partnerships that introduce innovative and sustainable management practices. He made the remarks at the Sustainable Markets Initiative’s CEO-Leader’s Event at the CHOGM Business Forum.

During the event, the Vice President also had an audience with the head of the Commonwealth, His Majesty King Charles III.

Speaking at the discussion focus group on nature-based solutions and public-private partnerships (PPPs), the Vice President highlighted the high priority President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu attaches to enhancing the role of the private sector. He stated that advocacy on climate change and environmental issues has always been very high on the Maldives’ agenda. The Vice President highlighted that PPPs can mobilise significant financial resources and technical expertise from the private sector, complementing government efforts.

The high-level CEO and Commonwealth Leader event is held in the presence of His Majesty King Charles III and is organised by the Sustainable Markets Initiative. The Sustainable Markets Initiative was established by His Majesty King Charles III when he was The Prince of Wales.
