PPM appoints Foreign Minister Khaleel as party vice-president

The Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has appointed Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullah Khaleel as its new Vice-President and CEO of Male’ City Group of Hospitals, Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Khaleem as the party's Secretary General, following a Senate meeting.

Minister Khaleel fills the vice-presidential position vacated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who transitioned to the People's National Congress (PNC). This marks a significant shift for the PPM, which has been without a Secretary General for some time; the last person to hold this position was the current Sports Commissioner, Mohamed Tholal.

With Minister Khaleel’s appointment, the PPM now has three vice-presidents, joining Defense Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon and Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam. The PPM continues to maintain its coalition with the ruling PNC.
