Gov't to establish Empowerment Hub for disabled person

The Ministry of Social and Family Development has revealed plans to establish a dedicated centre called the Empowerment Hub, aimed at creating income-generating opportunities for people with disabilities.

The social ministry said that the Empowerment Hub will serve as a space where individuals with disabilities can acquire new skills, sell their products, and secure employment. By offering training and support, the centre will empower them to develop the skills needed to start their own businesses and earn a sustainable income.

Additionally, the ministry highlighted that the hub will provide a platform for people with disabilities to showcase their talents through product sales. The facility will also be designed to ensure full accessibility, providing an inclusive and barrier-free environment.

The Empowerment Hub will also connect businesses with potential employees from the disabled community, promoting both social responsibility and productivity. The ministry is currently working on finalising the hub's operational model and securing the location for the centre.
