Fuvahmulah City Council contracts solar panel installation works to Avi Technologies

Fuvahmulah City Council has handed over the works pertaining to the installation of solar panels in ten mosques to Avi Technologies Private Limited. The council indicated that the project, valued at USD 181,582, will be financed through its budget and executed under a contractor finance policy.

The council announced that the solar panel installation is scheduled to be completed within an 18-day timeframe. Speaking to PSM News, Mayor of Fuvahmulah City Council Ismail Rafeeq stated that the solar panels will be installed in ten mosques, representing one-third of the mosques in the city.

Additionally, the mayor noted that the council expects to save USD 77,821 annually as a result of this project. He also mentioned the intention to complete solar panel installations in all mosques within the city over the next two to three years, along with plans to install solar panels in council-related buildings.

Fuvahmulah City Council has been exerting efforts to transform Fuvahmulah into a more technology-driven, eco-friendly city. Through the initiative, the city will implement smart lighting, enabling remote control of street and public lights, allowing for efficient management, including turning lights on and off and detecting any issues.
