Islamic Ministry seeks bidders for Waqf building in Hulhumale’

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has re-announced its search for candidates to construct the largest Waqf building in the Maldives, named Darul Salam, in Hulhumale’. The previous bid did not attract sufficient interest, prompting this new call.

The proposed 12-storey office building will be located in Hulhumale’ Phase I, with applications open to both Maldivian and foreign companies. Interested parties must submit their applications online by 2:00 PM on October 24, with proposals due by 11:00 AM on October 30.

Currently, the only operational Waqf building in the Maldives is Darul Iman in Male’, which generates an annual income of USD 390,641. The government also plans to construct a Waqf building in Addu City.
