The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has revealed that it is preparing to install street lights in the area surrounding the Vinares flats in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
In a social media post, Managing Director of HDC Fazul Rasheed indicated that the inspection of the electricity cables for the street lights was completed in August. He, however, noted that the power cables intended for installation have gone missing, with theft of electricity cables being a recurring issue in Hulhumale' Phase II.
Additionally, Fazul said that the procurement of the necessary materials for the street lights in the Vinares flats area is currently in progress. The HDC is committed to resolving this issue as quickly as possible.
The HDC stated that the lighting installation in Hulhumale' Phase II is part of a comprehensive plan. Various projects across the country are being completed to accommodate residents, although construction work in some areas is hindering the installation of electrical connections on the roads.
