President and First Lady visit Taj Mahal

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed toured the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, before departing for Mumbai.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation of senior government officials, the couple took the opportunity to explore this renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, as part of their state visit to India at the invitation of President Droupadi Murmu. The Taj Mahal is a significant draw for tourists from around the globe and holds particular appeal for many Maldivians who visit during their holidays.

Constructed in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this stunning monument symbolizes love and exquisite craftsmanship. The Indian government extends this opportunity to all visiting leaders, highlighting the Taj Mahal's importance as a cultural and historical landmark.
