President Muizzu's visit key to strengthening relations: Dr.Jaishankar

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Subramaniam Jaishankar has emphasised that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to India will significantly enhance the already strong bilateral relations between the two nations. Dr. Jaishankar made these remarks during a courtesy call on President Muizzu as part of the ongoing state visit.

Welcoming President Muizzu on his first official visit to India, Dr. Jaishankar reiterated India’s commitment to strengthening ties with the Maldives. The two leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation and addressed several areas of mutual interest.

Dr. Jaishankar also expressed his confidence that the upcoming meeting between President Muizzu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would further bolster bilateral relations and lead to meaningful progress in key areas of collaboration.

President Muizzu is on a state visit to India at the invitation of Indian President Droupadi Murmu. Accompanied by several Cabinet ministers, the President’s visit is expected to pave the way for stronger diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries.
