Cooperation essential for sustaining Maldives' tourism popularity

Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal has said that the Maldives, renowned as a premier tourist destination, requires collective effort to maintain its appeal for future generations. He made this statement in a social media post marking National Tourism Day.

In his message, Minister Faisal highlighted that the Maldives has gained global recognition for its rich culture, stunning natural beauty, and the exceptional hospitality offered by its people. He urged everyone to unite in their efforts to preserve the Maldives’ status as a sought-after travel destination.

The government established October 3 as National Tourism Day to commemorate the opening of the first resort in the Maldives. Currently, the country boasts 175 resorts, 901 hotels and guesthouses, and 152 safari vessels, providing a total of 62,908 beds for visitors.
