Spouse of Vice President stresses gov't focus on expanding Quranic education

The spouse of the Vice President Aishath Afreen Mohamed has emphasised the government's focus on providing students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of the Holy Quran and advance in the field. She made the statement while speaking at the results announcement ceremony of the Quran competition held during Ramadan 2023, organized by Dharaja Learning Centre and Rawdah Lil Hajji Wal Umrah Private Limited.

Speaking at the ceremony, Afreen highlighted the importance of Quran competitions in encouraging individuals to recite the Quran beautifully. She reiterated that the government is dedicated to expanding Quran knowledge and offering more opportunities for students in this area. She also noted her efforts to promote free Quranic education and to motivate both students and adults to memorise the Quran.

Additionally, Afreen noted that each of these opportunities represents a valuable chance to develop Quran skills and urged participants to take full advantage of them. She also praised parents for instilling a love of the Quran in their children and commended the teachers for their role in spreading Quranic knowledge.

The Quran competition, held during Ramadan 2023, saw the participation of 102 students, including those studying at the centre and participants from across the country. In the 11-14 age group, Sheza Sajid Sameer took first place and was rewarded with a trip to Umrah. Trophies and cash prizes were also awarded to other winners.
