PNC postpones internal elections, reschedules to November 9

The People's National Congress (PNC) has announced a postponement of its internal elections, now scheduled for November 9 instead of the previously set date of October 19. This change follows requests from numerous interested candidates, leading the party to extend the nomination deadline to October 24 at 1800hrs.

A total of 2,095 positions will be contested in the upcoming elections. These include constituency presidents and vice-presidents, as well as leadership roles in the youth and women’s movements, and general members of steering committees. Notably, 75 constituencies will not hold elections, as they are chaired by sitting parliamentarians. Meanwhile, 18 constituencies will elect new presidents, and 93 will select vice-presidents.

To be eligible to vote, members must submit their membership forms to the party office by the revised deadline of October 24.
