The President’s Office has disclosed that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to visit neighboring India in the coming days. This was disclosed by the Spokesperson of the President Heena Waleed during a press conference held on Tuesday.
Heena disclosed that the date for the President’s upcoming visit to India is currently being discussed. She noted that the date of the visit will be determined after considering the most convenient date for the leaders of both the countries.
In June 2024, President Muizzu travelled to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers of the Government of India. Upon conclusion of the visit, the President affirmed that his official visit to India was successful and played a pivotal role to enhance the bilateral relations between the two nations, benefitting the Maldivians.
