New beach for tourists in Addu guest houses is nearly complete

The Addu City Council has announced that the development of a new beach for tourists staying in guest houses in Addu is nearing completion.

The beach is being constructed in the Dhigihere area as part of efforts to boost the tourism sector in the region. The beach will cater specifically to tourists visiting guest houses, addressing the current lack of such facilities despite the presence of guesthouses in Addu.

Addu already hosts three resorts and several guesthouses, with additional projects underway to further expand and enhance tourism. These initiatives include the creation of a tourism zone, the expansion of local tourism, and the Hankede Integrated Tourism Project. Moreover, new tourism projects are planned for three reclaimed islands in Addu, alongside a coastal tourism project that will also be implemented in the city.
