President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended his congratulations to the Maldives National University (MNU) on the occasion of its 51st anniversary. Celebrating the occasion, Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef also conveyed greetings to the university.
In a post shared on social media, President Dr. Muizzu conveyed heartfelt greetings and well wishes to MNU's management, staff, lecturers, former students, students currently pursuing studies from the university and their parents. Enhancing the higher education field and creating more opportunities for the youth is a pledge of the president. Aiming to fulfil this commitment, he has included ranking institutions providing higher education and reviewing the regulations pertaining to the field.
Founded on September 1, 1973, originally as the Allied Health Services Training Centre, MNU is the most historic university in the Maldives and one of the nation’s premier institutions for higher education. It was renamed as the Maldives National University on February 15, 2011. The university now conducts over 150 courses at a Master’s degree level, while running several centres, faculties and campuses. Currently, MNU campuses have been established in four atolls, in addition to Male' City.
