The government has started broadcasting the English translation of the Friday sermon. As such, the first ever live translation of the Friday prayer was broadcasted from the Islamic Center this Friday.
The English translation of Friday’s sermon was broadcast live on the ministry’s Facebook page and on TVs installed at the Islamic Centre. Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed stated that the translation feed will be provided to local TV channels from next week onwards.
Additionally, today's Friday sermon was written by a female scholar for the first time. As such, the sermon was written by Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs Al-Ustaz Hawwa Latheef.
