Maldives discusses financing for projects with China Exim Bank

The Maldives has engaged in discussions with Exim Bank of China to secure financing for economic projects. These discussions took place as part of Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer's ongoing visit to China.

During the visit, Minister Zameer met with Chairman of EXIM Bank of China Wu Fulin. In the meeting, Minister Zameer updated Chairman Wu on the latest economic and financial developments in the Maldives, including the financial reform policies recently announced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The discussion also covered potential financing for major economic projects in the Maldives and explored opportunities for joint collaboration.

Minister Zameer is accompanied by Minister of Finance Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq and Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib. Throughout their visit to China, the Maldivian delegation has also held official talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations.

The official visit to China, which began on July 20, is set to conclude on July 24.
