Maldives and Fliggy discuss boosting Maldivian tourism

The Maldives has held discussions with Fliggy, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group, to promote Maldivian tourism and boost the influx of Chinese tourists. The discussions took place during the current visit of Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal to China.

Minister Faisal met with Vice President of Alibaba Group and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fliggy Zoran Zhuang, at the Alibaba Group headquarters in Hangzhou, China. In their meeting, they explored strategies to increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting the Maldives and enhance the travel experiences offered to them. They also considered various collaborative efforts.

Fliggy, the leading online travel platform in China, specialises in booking tickets and vacation packages. China is currently the largest source of tourists to the Maldives, with over 98,000 Chinese visitors recorded so far this year.
