Foreign minister sends condolences over death of Iranian counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer has expressed sorrow and heartfelt condolences following the untimely death of Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdul Hayyan in a tragic helicopter crash.

In a social media post, Minister Zameer conveyed his deep sorrow over the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Iran’s President and Foreign Minister. He further highlighted Foreign Minister Amir Abdul Hayyan’s proactive efforts in strengthening the bilateral ties between the Maldives and Iran, commending him for his unwavering commitment and diligent efforts in promoting foreign policies.

Moreover, the Minister also extended his deepest sympathies and prayers to Almighty Allah to bless the souls of those lost in the incident and grant them Jannatul Firdaus.

The helicopter, which was carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir Abdul Hayyan, crashed in the Jolfa region of East Azerbaijan.
