IUM affirms that courses will be conducted inclusively

Deputy Vice Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) Ahmed Ameen Mohamed has stated that the university provides courses which are inclusive for all students, including individuals with disabilities. This initiative aimed to support President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's top priority of ensuring those with special needs also attain quality education.

Speaking at a programme aired on PSM News, Deputy Vice Chancellor Ameen revealed that several students with disabilities are currently seeking higher education in IUM. Emphasising the significance of inclusion for the development of the nation, Ameen disclosed that IUM's courses are structured such that students with physical and mental disabilities can study effectively.
Additionally, he revealed that no courses or programmes were specifically designed to only accommodate students with disabilities.

Observing that most of the individuals with disabilities are seeking higher education from IUM, Ameen stated that such students have also completed their diplomas and degrees in the university. He further expressed pride as some students have also taken on the challenge of pursuing master's degree programmes at IUM.
