Dhidhdhoo Airport land reclamation awarded to MTCC

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the land reclamation and coastal protection for the development of Dhidhdhoo Airport, Haa Alifu Atoll.

The agreement for the project was signed by the Minister of State for Construction and Infrastructure Ismail Hameed and Chief Executive Officer of MTCC Abdulla Ziyad in an official ceremony held in Dhidhdhoo. The ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, The ceremony was also attended by the President of Dhidhdhoo Island Council Abdulla Rasheed and as well as senior administrative officials.

A total of 71.8 hectares of land have been allocated for the construction of Dhidhdhoo Airport. The project is part of the president's resolution in developing 15 airports during his tenure.

In addition, MTCC has been contracted the development of six other airports across the Maldives.
