Practical work of road development in Thoddoo commences

Road Development Corporation (RDC) has officially commenced the practical work of developing the roads of Thoddoo, Alif Alif Atoll. The project laying the groundwork for the development of the island's roads was launched by the Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim.

Speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director of RDC Brigadier General (rtd) Ali Zuhair affirmed that the project will continue without a stoppage. He further emphasised that the developmental works will continue such that it does not negatively impact the tourism of the island.

The development of the roads of the island were entrusted to RDC on September 5, 2023. The project is to be completed within a period of 730 days. The project worth USD 5 million, will be resumed on a design and build basis. Under the project, four roads with a length of 2.5km will be enhanced with the installation of drainage systems and street lights as well.
