Gov't conveys President's aim for an accountable Parliament

Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan has conveyed President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's aspiration for a transparent and accountable Parliament. He made the remarks during a campaign event for a candidate contesting the upcoming parliamentary election.

Speaking at the event, Minister Ihusaan emphasised that the primary candidates of the main ruling People's National Congress (PNC) will not necessarily align with all governmental directives. Rather, he underscored President Dr. Muizzu's vision for a responsible Parliament, one that prioritises the well-being of the nation by endorsing beneficial policies and opposing detrimental ones.

Additioanlly, Minister Ihusaan highlighted a prevailing sentiment where individuals, especially those from different political affiliations, reflexively oppose each other's propositions. He also pointed out the prevailing attitude within the current parliamentary landscape.
