Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has issued a white alert for the region between Haa Alifu Atoll and Vaavu Atoll.
The Met Office stated that heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected across different regions for the next two days, particularly in the southern and central atolls. It also warned travellers to be cautious of rough seas.
Additionally, the Met Office reported that the prevailing wind direction in the southern atolls ranges from south to south-west. Concurrently, in other regions, winds are forecasted to range between 5 and 15 mph from north-west and east. Moreover, wave height is expected to range from 2 to 4 feet.
