Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has announced that efforts are underway to increase public awareness against bullying from a religious perspective.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has established a taskforce specialised to protect children from various bullying cases. Providing an insight on the works of the taskforce, Minister Shaheem stated that several initiatives will commence aiming to increase public knowledge. This includes raising awareness via the sermon given prior to Friday prayer, conducting religious forums, holding special programmes for parents in addition to various workshops to be conducted categorised to certain age groups.
The taskforce consisting of ministers was established following the surface of bullying case of a child which circulated on social media platforms. The taskforce envisions amending and implement sustainable preventive measures for such cases.
