Direct flights to connect Addu City and Kooddoo

National airline, Maldivian has announced the launch of direct flights from Addu City to Koodoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, marking a significant step in enhancing connectivity between southern and northern islands.

The service is scheduled to commence on October 29, with two flights per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This initiative aligns with the current administration's commitment to expanding travel options across the Northern islands, prioritising accessibility and convenience for passengers.

The project is a collaborative effort between Addu International Airport, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). Its aim is to expand commercial services and stimulate business opportunities in the region.

Island Aviation, the parent company of Maldivian, highlighted the benefits of the new route for travelers connecting via Sri Lankan Airlines to Addu City. The direct flights will provide seamless access to guesthouses and resorts located within the premises of Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu atolls, enhancing the overall travel experience for visitors.

Tickets for the new route are now available for booking online, through Maldivian ticketing offices, and via sales agents.
