BCC launches Dhiveheennah Iskan to boost local product visibility

The Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has initiated a special social media campaign titled "Dhiveheennah Iskan" aimed at boosting the visibility of local products. Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed inaugurated the campaign, slated to span all the islands of the Maldives until April 16.

The BCC outlined the campaign's mechanics, which include distributing local products in eco-friendly packaging. Individuals are encouraged to pass along a local product to another individual using the same bag. Participants are invited to document the exchanges and share them on social media, tagging both BCC and the respective product manufacturer.

After inaugurating the campaign, Minister Saeed emphasised the longstanding tradition of gift-giving within the community, underscoring that the gifts exchanged in this campaign are locally produced items. He also highlighted the potential of the campaign to serve as a significant boost for Maldivian manufacturers.

BCC outlined that the aim of the campaign is to amplify the visibility of products crafted by Maldivian artisans and foster greater public interest in their craftsmanship. The campaign welcomes any local product, spanning from culinary delights to artisanal crafts. In addition, BCC announced a 10% discount on all purchases made at the Authentic Maldives store in Male' City for the duration of the campaign.
