Former President Mohamed Nasheed has paid a courtesy visit to King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in England on March 27, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the monarch.
Since distancing himself from political activities, Nasheed currently serves as the Secretary General of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF), an international organisation focused on combating the adverse effects of climate change. He assumed this role on December 2, 2023, leading a forum comprising 58 member nations.
Nasheed shared his views on social media, highlighting common concerns shared by King Charles and the CVF regarding environmental issues. These shared beliefs include the pressing need to provide financial assistance to private companies in developing countries undertaking projects related to the environment and clean energy.
During his visit, the Former President engaged in discussions with numerous senior officials and delegates working in the environmental sector of the country.
