WAMCO reduce fees at waste transfer stations

Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has announced a reduction in service fees at waste transfer stations within the Greater Male' Region.

WAMCO stated that the revised pricing structure will be effective from March and will benefit users in Male' City, Hulhumale', and Villimale'. Private waste disposal vehicles utilising facilities with weighbridges will now incur a fee of USD49 per tonne. State facilities, on the other hand, will be subject to a charge of USD173 per tonne based on the weight of the disposed garbage.

Furthermore, WAMCO disclosed that all users, including private citizens, state entities, and affiliated companies, will be charged a service fee of USD9.7 per vehicle visit to the WAMCO waste site.

The decision to reduce the fees aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's campaign pledge, reflecting the corporation's commitment to enhancing waste management services in the region.
