IASL assures air ambulance safety

Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), which operates the national airline, Maldivian, has reassured the public about the safety of the aircraft serving as an air ambulance amidst recent concerns.

In a statement, IASL emphasised its commitment to safety and stated that the aircraft was specifically designed and equipped for air ambulance purposes, following its prior use for scheduled flights within the company's operations. The conversion process ensured the installation of necessary medical equipment to facilitate emergency treatment. The company underscored its dedication to prioritising the safety and security of both crew and passengers.

Furthermore, an agreement has been established between IASL, the Ministry of Health, and the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) to offer air ambulance services across the Maldives. The service utilises a Dash 8 aircraft, capable of transporting two patients simultaneously.
