"Volunteering time without monetary compensation is a human sacrifice"

First Lady and Chief Guide, Sajida Mohamed, has expressed that dedicating time to humanity without expecting any financial gain is a profound and selfless human sacrifice. She made the remarks addressing the Annual General Meeting 2023 of the Maldives Girl Guides Association, held at the Maldives Customs Service Hall.

Addressing the gathering, the First Lady underscored the indispensable role of both men and women in contributing to national development. She emphasised the need for women to acquire a diverse set of life skills and training to effectively progress in this context.

Highlighting the transformative impact of Girl Guide activities, the First Lady pointed out that the skills, knowledge, and courage cultivated through these endeavors have propelled many participants to assume significant high-level positions within the country.

During the event, the First Lady had the honor of presenting awards to recipients of prestigious accolades, including the Girl Guide Association's Chief Commissioner’s Certificate, the Asia Pacific Regional Award, and the Bronze Palm at the trainers’ level.

The Annual General Meeting Minutes of the Girl Guide Association for 2023 were duly approved, along with the financial statement and the comprehensive annual report. In a gesture of appreciation, the Girl Guide Association presented a memento to Chief Guide, First Lady Sajida Mohamed.
