Government begins construction on Arabiyya School building

The Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of construction for the new Arabiyya School building. Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu inaugurated the fieldwork during a special ceremony dedicated to the occasion.

Speaking to PSM News, Minister Shafeeu expressed his excitement, mentioning that students, parents, and teachers alike would rejoice at the prospect of a new school building. He highlighted the prolonged period during which Arabiyya School operated without a permanent structure, lacking adequate facilities for both students and educators. He, however, assured that the new 10-storey building will be fully equipped to cater to their needs.

Additionally, Minister Shafeeu disclosed that the new Arabiyya School building will pioneer underground parking in Maldives' school infrastructure. He also pledged additional services for the school community.

Furthermore, Minister Shafeeu reassured students and parents that the new facility would alleviate their longstanding struggles. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the previous site's unsuitability, contrasting it with the more suitable and convenient location of the current construction. He anticipated that the new building would mark a significant improvement, addressing the concerns of all stakeholders.

Notably, the initiation of Arabiyya School's new building aligns with an important milestone outlined in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's Week 14 Roadmap. The construction project was awarded to Amin Construction Private Limited on September 29, 2022.
