President to answer direct questions from public in "Ahaa" forum

President's Office has revealed President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is set to participate as a guest in the second session of the 'Ahaa' public forum, aimed at addressing public queries, tonight at Sultan Park. Organised by the President's Office in collaboration with Public Service Media (PSM), the forum series allows direct interaction between government officials and the public.

The first session, held in January, involved Cabinet Ministers answering questions directly from the public, receiving positive feedback. For the upcoming session, PSM invites the public to ask questions to the President, with participants having the option to pose questions during the event or submit inquiries in advance. The session is scheduled to commence at 2045hrs.

President Dr. Muizzu had earlier announced a commitment to hold public forums every two months, where Ministers would update the public on government initiatives and address direct questions. Additionally, he pledged to engage with communities every three months to address concerns.

This public forum series is a pioneering initiative, marking the first time a Maldivian government has organized such events to promptly address public inquiries. President Muizzu's commitment to transparency and public engagement is further demonstrated through initiatives like visiting atolls and responding to frequently asked questions on social media under the title 'Raeesge Javaab.' The live-streamed forums also enable the public to contribute to discussions through social media.
