"Gemanafushi harbour will be developed as an industrial harbour"

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the harbour in Gemanafushi, Gaafu Alifu Atoll, renowned for its fishing, will be transformed into an industrial hub. He made this announcement at gathering held with Gemanafushi residents during his visit to the island as part of his ongoing tour of various islands in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and the North and South Huvadhoo Atolls.

In his remarks, the President reaffirmed the Administration's dedication to the island's development, placing strategic emphasis on advancing the fisheries sector. President Dr. Muizzu highlighted the recent meeting with the Gemanafushi Council, during which the members addressed various issues crucial to the island. He assured that addressing these concerns would be the top priority for the Administration, committing to the continuation of ongoing efforts at Gemanafushi.

The President also underlined that securing Parliamentary support would facilitate the Government in bringing straightforward development to the nation. Additionally, he emphasised the significance of garnering the people's support and appealed for their cooperation with the Government's efforts.

Accompanying the President on his tour of several islands in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and the North and South Huvadhoo Atolls is a high-level Government delegation.
