President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with the members of the Island Council of Gemanafushi, Gaafu Alifu Atoll and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Secretariat of the Gemanafushi Island Council.
During the meeting, the Council underscored the necessity for a suitable harbour for the island, considering the significant number of fishing vessels it accommodates. They also expressed the need for expediting road development, land reclamation, shore protection, the enhancement of the football ground, and the relocation of the island's powerhouse away from the residential neighbourhood, among other requirements for the residential population. The WDC also shared its needs and concerns with the President.
At the meeting, the President assured the addressing of the concerns brought to his attention through established government procedures. He also provided the latest information on the development projects intended for the progress of the community through his Ministers.
