Sports academies will be supported by companies: President

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the government will extend assistance to sports academies through the corporate social responsibility initiatives of government companies. He made the announcement during the "Raees ge Javaab" series, which facilitates direct public interaction with the President on diverse issues.

Mohamed Anas, from Fonadhoo, Laamu Atoll, raised concerns about the lack of support for sport academies during the series. He has dedicated seven years to teaching children through his academy. Despite his efforts, he highlighted the absence of corporate social responsibility backing for such initiatives.

In response, President Dr. Muizzu pledged to collaborate with companies engaged in projects across the islands, as well as associations and sports training academies. He emphasised the need to establish a policy by engaging with companies to ensure support for academies and coaches through the Ministry of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation.

Numerous academies are providing sports training, nurturing a significant number of children in various sports disciplines across the nation.
