Addu City bridge survey work awarded to Egyptian company

An Egyptian company has been awarded the government contract to conduct the survey of the bridge connecting Addu City Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the preliminary design and survey work of the bridge project linking Hithadhoo to Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo in Addu City was signed by Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure, and Heba Abu AlEla, an Engineer at The Arab Contractors.

The signing ceremony took place during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's meeting with the residents of Addu City’s Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo as part of his ongoing visit to Addu City, Huvadhoo, and Fuvahmulah City.

President Muizzu highlighted the significance of this project, which was pledged by the Administration, and clarified that the expenses for the bridge's design and feasibility will be funded through grants. He announced the project's commencement within the year and its expected completion within four years. The President expressed hope that the project would contribute to enhancing Addu City’s economic prospects.

The preliminary design and survey of the Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo Bridge in Addu City have been entrusted to The Arab Contractors.
