Gov't to select contractor for care Cancer Hospital

The Ministry of Health has announced the designation of a contractor for consultancy and feasibility work for the upcoming Cancer Hospital in the Greater Male’ Region.

The government has prioritised the establishment of a comprehensive cancer care facility. As such, the health ministry has announced the selection of a contractor for consultancy and feasibility studies for the cancer hospital planned in the Greater Male’ Region. Interested parties may submit proposals until February 25.

The government has initiated the necessary steps toward developing a fully equipped cancer hospital in the Maldives, with the aim of alleviating patient suffering and providing state-of-the-art cancer care domestically. The ministry has emphasised that the cancer hospital will offer a complete range of services, including medical consultation, chemotherapy, diagnostic tests, and therapies, along with dedicated accommodations for medical staff.

Efforts are also underway to secure suitable land for the hospital, while architectural plans and equipment requirements are being addressed. The endeavor holds a special priority for the government, and upon completion, it will establish a comprehensive cancer care service within the Maldives.
