The Defense Services Command and Staff College (DSCS) has honored Major General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef by inducting him into the Wall of Fame.
DSCS College, a military and army training institution in Sri Lanka, welcomed the Chief of Defense Force of Sri Lanka to its Wall of Fame during a delegation visit by senior officials from the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF). The visit was extended at the invitation of DSCS Commandant Major General Lasantha Rodrigo.
As part of the induction ceremony, Lieutenant General Abdul Raheem unveiled his portrait, which will be placed on the revered Wall of Fame, serving as a testament to his distinguished career and unwavering commitment to service. During the ceremony, the Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College expressed profound appreciation for Lieutenant General Abdul Raheem's exceptional leadership, which contributes to the institution's legacy of excellence. He commended the Chief of Defence Force for his unwavering dedication to excellence and his pivotal role in shaping the development of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
Following the induction, Lieutenant General Abdul Raheem addressed the student officers, reflecting on his formative years at the Defence Services Command and Staff College and the profound impact it had on his professional journey. He shared anecdotes from his time at the college, highlighting the invaluable lessons learned and the pivotal role the institution played in shaping his career. In his speech, the Chief of Defence Force underscored the importance of dedication, perseverance, and lifelong learning in the pursuit of excellence. He encouraged the student officers to embrace challenges with resilience and unwavering determination, emphasising the transformative power of education and leadership development.
Lieutenant General Abdul Raheem attended the Defence Services Command and Staff College Sri Lanka from 2009 to 2010. Throughout his distinguished military career, Lieutenant General Abdul Raheem held numerous Command and Staff appointments in addition to his appointment as the Vice Chief of Defence Force before being appointed as the Chief of Defence Force.
The visit of the Chief of Defense Force to Sri Lanka is expected to fortify the enduring friendship between the two nations and enhance the relationship between their respective militaries. The Maldivian delegation arrived in Sri Lanka on the February 7.
